Formulated fish feed distribution ceremony held in Udalguri

KALAIGAON: A ceremonial function was organized in the premises of Udalguri District Fishery Development Office campus to distribute formulated fish feed to farmers of Udalguri district under SOPD scheme of BTC for the year 2020-21 on Tuesday.

The function for distribution of formulated fish feed among the farmers was started with welcome speech by Subhas Saharia, field demonstrator of Udalguri District Fishery Development Office.

After that, the function was formally inaugurated by Dr. Nilut Swargiwary, Executive Member of BTC. Addressing the farmers, BTC EM Swargiwary said that the BTC administration took an initiative to develop the fishery sector.

With the distribution of formulated fish feed for the first time in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), fish farmers would get double the benefit than earlier.

In a unique initiative, the officers and employees of the Udalguri Fishery Development Office organized the day-long function to popularize the concept of fish farming with scientific method in the premises of Fishery Development Office in Udalguri district on Tuesday, he added. Meanwhile, Bipul Khataniar, Fishery Development Officer of Udalguri District Fishery Development Office, also spoke on the occasion.

Khataniar appealed to the farmers that they should follow the scientific method for fish farming to get more benefit from this cultivation.

A total of 94 beneficiaries were provided formulated fish feed. The ceremonial function was concluded with vote of thanks by Hrishikesh Sarma, field demonstrator of Udalguri District Fishery Development Office.
