Four arrested for attack on Union Minister Rameswar Teli’s house in Duliajan

NAHARKATIA: Four persons were arrested from Duliajan for their alleged involvement in the attack at the residence of Union Minister Rameswar Teli in Duliajan, by a police special investigating team on Tuesday morning.

As per sources, the police special investigating team arrested those four persons from their houses. They are Chandan Kalita (31), son of Tarun Kalita, resident of Guwahati Sai Gaon, who lives in Duliajan Kumud Nagar in a rented house, Samarjit Baruah (32), son of Bholanath Baruah of Harihar Path Duliajan, Dipen Khanikar (24), son of Padmeswar Khanikar of Tipling Borgadhoi and Hengul Sonowal (20), son of Khirud Sonowal of Oil Employee’s quarter No. A-Type 581. These four persons were arrested with reference to the case registered in Duliajan Police Station 626/19 U/S 120B/147/148/149/153AA/336/353/188/326/307/427/436 IPC, R/W sec. 25 (1-A) of Arms Act, R/W sec. 4 PDPP Act.

On December 11, 2019, the house of Union Minister Rameswar Teli in Duliajan was attacked by anti-CAA protesters. These four persons were allegedly involved in the whole incident.
