KOKRAJHAR: Four COVID-19 positive cases were confirmed among those in the quarantine centres in Kokrajhar on Thursday. Confirming the news, Dr. J. Uddin Ahmed, Joint Director, Health Services, Kokrajhar, said three cases were reported from Sports Authority of India quarantine centre while another from Bineswar Brahma Engineering College. They have been identified as Tilok Lama (20), Nazrul Islam (18), Saidul Ali (24) and Saddam Hussain (21). Ahmed said two of them -Sadam Hussain and Tilok Lama - were under home quarantine after their release from the quarantine centres in Kokrajhar. The respective district administration and health department officials were contacted and the district surveillance teams have already located them and admitted them in hospital as per the rules, he said.

The other two -Nazrul Islam and Saidul Ali –have been admitted in Barpeta's Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital. Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner Bhaskar Phukan too said that four confirmed cases were reported from screening centres in Kokrajhar.

Tilok Lama is from Baksa and arrived from Bangalore. Najrul Islam is from Barpeta and arrived from Andhra Pradesh, Saidul Ali is from Nalbari and came from Uttar Pradesh while Saddam Hussain is from Dhubri district and arrived from Pune few days back.
