Four killed in a road accident in Lakhimpur district

LAKHIMPUR: A road accident that took place on Monday claimed four lives, including a child, in Lakhimpur. Two of the deceased persons have been identified as Ratna Mahanta of Ghiladhari and Rinku Morang of Pahumora under Lakhimpur district while the other two persons have been identified as Mitali Das Boro and Utpal Boro, residents of Rukmini Gaon in Guwahati.

As per information, an Innova car bearing registration number AS 01 BR 0078, coming along NH-15 from Guwahati, hit a tree by the side of the road near Dolahat Tiniali under Naoboicha area. The driver of the car, Ratna Mahanta died on the spot while Mitali Das Boro, Utpal Boro and Rinku Moran breathed their last at the 30-bedded Naoboicha Block Primary Health Centre. On the other hand, the 5th passenger of the car, Narayan Boro of Rukmini Gaon in Guwahati is fighting for life in a critical condition at North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital.
