LAKHIMPUR: Four medical personnel who were involved in treating COVID-19 patients in Lakhimpur district tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday.

One of them is Dr. Nabajit Dutta (25) who was posted in Bholabori as a one-year rural appointee doctor and has been working in Kherajkhat State Dispensary in the district. The other three persons are Lohit Sonowal (31), Grade IV employee at Boginadi Model Hospital, Ashok Taw (34), Grade IV employee at Bebejia PHC, and Biswajit Kuli (35), pharmacist of Kekuri Pamuwa Mini PHC.

They were involved in the treatment and health care of the COVID-19 patients of Lakhimpur district at the Dedicated COVID Health Centre (DCHC) set up at Telahi Model Hospital. Then they were in institutional quarantine from June 2 till date at Hotel A&A2 located in North Lakhimpur town. As per report from the Lakhimpur District Health Department, the swab samples of these four medical personnel were collected on June 6 and sent to AMCH for coronavirus test on June 7 and the swab test results were reported as positive on Tuesday. All of them were admitted in the isolation wards of North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital.
