Four-year old raped in Chirang along the India-Bhutan border, 43-year-old accused Rajen Narzary held

Bongaigaon: The alleged rape of a 4-year old child has shaken Chirang district. The heinous crime took place in the Runikhata area of Chirang district located along the India-Bhutan border. A 43-year old man, Rajen Narzary allegedly raped a four-year old girl. The girl told her parents about it on Tuesday night and they immediately lodged a complaint before the Chirang Police. The accused was nabbed on Tuesday night from Runikhata.

On Wednesday, thousands of people gathered in front of Runikhata PS and demanded severe punishment for Rajen Narzary. Few people also appealed to police to hand over Rajen to the public so that they could punish him. Few also tried to block the Indo-Bhutan connecting Dantok road. But police somehow managed to control the situation. Police have started investigation.
