‘Frankenstein’ screened at BRMGM College, Doomdooma

DOOMDOOMA: The Department of English, Bir Raghav Moran Government Model (BRMGM) College, Doomdooma in collaboration with ‘Chitraban’, the Cinematic Club of the college, initiated a programme for the students for learning through films, which is a remedial initiative to show the students’ films based on TDC syllabus. As the first venture, the film ‘Frankenstein’ based on Mary Shelly’s popular novel of the same name was screened in the college on Saturday. The novel is a part of the TDC 4th Semester syllabus for the English honours students.

The screening of the film was formally inaugurated by journalist Abhijit Khataniar. In his speech Khataniar appreciated the initiative of the college and expressed the hope that the students would be benefitted from it.

The inaugural session was also addressed by the vice-principal of the college Dr Pranita Neog, the co-ordinator of the IQAC of the college Dr Pranjal Talukdar and the in-charge of ‘Chitraban’ Nipam Kalita. Earlier, Anwesha Gogoi, the Head of English Department explained the objectives of the programme. The inaugural session was anchored by Abhilasha Phukan, assistant professor of English.
