Free animal vaccination and treatment camp held by Assam Agriculture University, North Lakhimpur

LAKHIMPUR: A free of cost animal vaccination and treatment camp was organized under the aegis of Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science (LCVS), Assam Agriculture University, Joyhing, North Lakhimpur on Wednesday. The camp was organized at Bholabori Gaon Panchayat under Narayanpur Development Block of Lakhimpur district in collaboration with Pashu Samriddhi unit under LCVS and Narayanpur State Veterinary Dispensary. Over 500 livestock covering the area were vaccinated in the camp, in addition to rendering allied treatment regarding the Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) of cattle. Ten specialists of LCVS and 27 students rendered their service towards treating the livestock. Dr. Jyoti Paban Chetia of Narayanpur State Veterinary Dispensary extended his co-ordination for the smooth conduct of the camp.

Taking part in the public meeting organized on the occasion, Associate Dean of LCVS, Dr. Uma Ram Tamuli delivered a speech on the importance of vaccination and time-bound treatment of the livestock. Dr. Anjan Jyoti Nath informed the public that the Pashu Samridhi unit under the LCVS had organized various treatment and vaccination camps along with training programmes for the welfare of animals and the benefits of the animal rearers. Parash Jyoti Gogoi, a progressive farmer of Bholabori area, ventured to hold the veterinary camp for the benefit of the farmers in the area.
