TEZPUR: In commemoration of Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP) Foundation Week and the birth anniversary of Dr Suraj Prakash, the Tezpur branch of BVP, in association with Nemcare Hospital, Tezpur, organized a free health check-up camp at the premises of Moinachuburi and Xaudur Chuburi Namghar.
The camp was formally inaugurated with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Dr Pradeep Kumar Lahkar, Chief Advisor of Nemcare Hospital, Tezpur, along with senior BVP member Gopal Saikia and Tarun Borah, President of the Namghar Committee. The event began on a melodious note with the rendition of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’ by Surendra Dugar.
In his welcome address, Vinod Pareek, President of BVP Tezpur Branch, extended heartfelt thanks to the Namghar authorities, the medical team, and all participants. He expressed appreciation for the community’s cooperation in hosting the camp at such a spiritually significant venue.
Programme Convener Madhurjya Bora briefed attendees about the various social service initiatives of Bharat Vikas Parishad, underlining the organization’s commitment to public welfare. Dr Pradeep Kumar Lahkar highlighted the growing importance of community-based health camps in promoting early diagnosis and preventive healthcare. Tarun Bora also extended his gratitude to BVP and Nemcare Hospital for their initiative.
As a gesture of appreciation, BVP members felicitated the entire medical team as well as the Namghar Committee President and Secretary. In return, the Namghar committee honoured Vinod Pareek and Nishant Patni, Secretary of BVP Tezpur Branch, for their dedicated service.
The camp recorded a turnout of 110 beneficiaries, who received a range of basic health check-ups. Free medicines, sponsored by the district health department, were also distributed during the event.
