DOOMDOOMA: A high-level committee meeting on the use of funds allocated at the school level for the supply of uniforms to students of government and provincialized schools in Tinsukia district was held at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner (DC)'s office on Saturday.

The meeting presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education) Sushanta Kumar Dutta was convened to discuss on how to distribute the uniform purchase grants received for 1109 schools in the district under the financial year 2021-22 within the stipulated time frame as per the departmental guidelines.

The School Management and Development Committees were directed to prepare the necessary programmes for proper utilisation of the funds. The Additional Deputy Commissioner suggested that the procurement process of uniforms be properly monitored on a field basis under the monitoring committees formed at the education sector level. The meeting also emphasized on the need for the zone level monitoring committee to take immediate action if any irregularities were noticed in the uniform procurement process to be carried out at the school level.

The meeting was attended by District Elementary Education Officer Binti Sharma, Circle Officers, District Planning Officers of Samagra Shiksha, Finance and Accounting Officers and Block Elementary Education Officers.
