Functioning of VVPAT and EVM demonstrated by Kamrup district DC Kamal Kumal Baishya

Boko: Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup district, Kamal Kumal Baishya demonstrated the functioning of Voter-Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machine and Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) in remote village Hahim under Boko legislative constituency in Kamrup district. Boko Revenue Circle Officer Pinki Dutta, Palashbari Revenue Circle officer (attached) Priyanka Baniya and Hajo Revenue Circle Officer (attached) Arpana Sarma also took part in the programme. Villagers of Garo tribal community, Rabha tribal community and Boro tribal community took part in the programme. DC Kamal Kumal Baishya said that this time in the Lok Sabha election, the Election Commission of India had stressed increasing the voter turnout and hence he had come to the village to create awareness among voters.
