DIBRUGARH:: Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated with pomp and gaiety in different places of Dibrugarh town on Wednesday. From the morning hours, the devotees thronged to the puja pandals to take blessings of Lord Ganesha. In the areas like HS Road, Chowkidinghee Market, Harijan Railway colony, Chowkidinghee railway colony, Jhalakpara Ganesh Mandir and other parts of the town, puja was performed in colourfully decorated pandals.

"Our theme of the pandal is 'Ganapati Thana' was a replica of Dibrugarh police station. We have seen that the security personnel worked day and night during the festival. We have decided that this time, our theme will be based on 'Ganapati Thana' to dedicate to the security personnel of our country," said, Manoj Mordani, an organiser of HS Road Ganesh Puja Committee.

He said, "This year, we are celebrating our 28th year. The puja was first started by one Amjad, and after his death, we have taken the initiative and organising the puja. For the last two years, due to Covid-19, we could not celebrate the puja in a grand way." The Ganesh Puja was celebrated in Dibrugarh in a peaceful manner.

DEMOW: Under the patronage of the organizing committee of Sri Sri Ganesh Janmotsav, Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated near Demow Parijat Cinema Hall on Wednesday. The devotees lit earthen lamps in front of Lord Ganesh's idol. Naam prasanga as well as devotional songs were performed on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Ladoos were offered in front of Ganesh idol on Wednesday.
