Gang of Robbers looted Rs 21 lakh at Chilonibari, Lakhimpur

LAKHIMPUR: A sensational robbery took place in Lakhimpur at Tuesday night. A gang of nine robbers looted Rs 21 lakh at Chilonibari.

As per report, the gang of robbers entered the house of Fazal Ali, an inhabitant of No. 2 Orang Bosti of Deezu Rampur on Tuesday night by breaking the doors. After entering the house, though the robbers shot at Fazal Ali, he had a narrow escape as he instantly laid down. Though the person escaped from death, the gang of the robbers assaulted him due to which he sustained severe injuries on his head and different parts of the body. Later, the gang looted the cash after tying him to a post. The robbers also distributed the looted money among themselves in front of Fazal Ali. At present he is undergoing treatment in North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital. Fazal Ali deals in hardware materials and broiler. He has a hardware shop at Rampur. On Tuesday night, his father and other family members were not at home. He was alone when the incident took place. Lakhimpur Police have launched an operation to catch the robbers. Fazal could identify one of them.
