Gauhati High Court Finalizes APSC Exam Dates, To Held From February 21

GUWAHATI: The dates for conducting the examination of APSC (Assam Public Service Commission) 2020 have been confirmed now as per the decision taken by Gauhati High Court.

The Gauhati High Court on Monday 14 February cancelled the petition challenging the exam timetable of the APSC Mains and the exam dates remain the same.

On 7 February a writ petition was filed by APSC's main aspirant Bikash Bora and ten others who are also A,PSC aspirants.

As per the petition by the APSC aspirants, the scheduled dates of the APSC 2020 coincide with the UPSC Main Examination. The petition also mentions that there was a delay in providing the online hall tickets or admit cards.

As per the latest information and decision by the Gauhati HC no changes were made in the examination of the Assam Public Service Commission.

It is informed that the APSC exam will be conducted on the same dates that were earlier fixed. The exams will be held for four days i.e. on 21 February, 22, 23 and 27 February 2022.

In view of the writ petition, the Gauhati High Court had given the date on today i.e. Monday 14 February for the case hearing. The date was set after consultation from the commission and following their opinion about the necessity of changing the fixed dates of the exam.

In the writ petition, the APSC candidates also alleged that certain rules of declaring the exam dates for the upcoming APSC exam have been violated.

The candidates preparing for the APSC are not satisfied with the date provided to conduct APSC Mains as they have clearly expressed their disregard in view of this.

Earlier in a court order, it was informed that the final selection will be subject to the final result of the writ petition that challenged the decision of removing the language paper from APSC Mains.

The Gauhati Hc had earlier directed the exam conducting body to conduct the Combined Competitive Mains examination without the language paper.
