Gauhati Medical College team wins AEC 88 quiz competition

GUWAHATI: The All Assam Inter-Institution Prize Money Quiz Competition on Science and Technology was successfully held for the first time at the Institute of Engineers India, Assam Centre, at Panbazar here on Sunday, stated a press release.

The competition was organized under the joint initiative of AEC 88 Class Foundation (Alumni of Assam Engineering College, 1988 pass-out batch) and Institute of Engineers India, Assam Centre and the event was sponsored by Oil India Limited.

Pankaj Goswami, Director, Operations, OIL was the chief guest and he gave away the prizes and also the valedictory address. N Patowari, former Professor of Civil Engineering in AEC and Chairman of Institute of Engineers India, Assam Centre, also attended the function as guest of honour.

The total prize money was over Rs 1 lakh and the first prize of Rs 30,000 was won by the Guwahati Medical College team of Sayan Mazumdar and Bishwayan Bhattacharjee. The second prize of Rs 20,000 was won by the IIT Guwahati team of Aditya Trivedi and Aryan Verma. The third prize of Rs 15,000 was won by Parthajyoti Bharadwaj and Dhrupad Deka of Arya Vidyapeeth College, Guwahati. Prizes were given to up to 10th position, with additional cash prizes for the members of the audience. The quiz was conducted by Tridib Bora, an eminent quizzard and also a former alumnus of Assam Engineering College, 1988 batch. The event drew enthusiastic response from almost 75 avid quizzards and others. Many batchmates of AEC 88 collaborated to make the event a great success.
