Girl electrocuted in a paddy field in Tinsukia
Tension prevailed in Chichoni gaon under Saikhowa Ghat PS of Sadiya Police District after a girl child was electrocuted in a paddy field on Wednesday morning.

TINSUKIA: Tension prevailed in Chichoni gaon under Saikhowa Ghat PS of Sadiya Police District after a girl child was electrocuted in a paddy field on Wednesday morning.
The live fencing was allegedly installed by two pro-talk ULFA rebels who had forcibly occupied the land for cultivation. According to reports, the 7 year old child- Arati Kharia, daughter of Chunil and Chuchila Kharia - touched the live wire while playing in the paddy field. The villagers along with activists of AATSA in hundreds gheraoed the Saikhowa Ghat PS and demanded arrest of Tutu Sonowal and Bitupan Sonowal. The police later apprehended the duo. The AATSA leaders also demanded suitable compensation.
