SILCHAR: "Girls are the epitome of strength towards nation building," Cachar DC Keerthi Jalli made this remark while addressing the outgoing students of class X & XII at a farewell meeting held at Government Girls Higher Secondary and Multipurpose School, Silchar on Thursday.

In her motivational speech, DC Jalli, chief guest on the occasion, said, "In today's world, we have innumerable examples of harnessing women power, from winning Olympic medals for the country, to become astronauts and Prime Minister of the country, in each sector, girls were proved to be successful. It is the duty of the girls to reach their goal by overcoming hundreds of obstacles while continuing their endeavours."

"After completing the degree course from secondary to various professional courses and in order to reach the pinnacle of development, girls need to apply perseverance. At present, the use of internet has brought considerable benefits in the field of education also," DC Jalli added.

While talking about women empowerment DC Jalli said, "Indian culture gives women the utmost respect, many of our Goddess are female and they have been worshipped as a deity. Women are epitome of wealth and power. Women play an important part in our society. If we wish to see a nation that develops economically on the global front, then it's very important to have women empowerment."

"Quality education is the key to women's empowerment, with the increase in literacy level and awareness, society has started giving importance to education. Many parents want to educate their daughters equally as their sons. Many women today are scientists, lecturers ,collectors etc," DC Jalli said. She also urged the students to become self-reliant and not to leave studies until they complete their graduation. She also expressed her best wishes for their future.

Earlier, the Principal of Silchar Government Girls Higher Secondary and Multipurpose School, Bikash Chakraborty explained the purpose and objectives of the program. The programme was also attended by the teachers and students of the school.
