Panaji: A strange case of theft has come to the fore in Margao town of South Goa, where thieves, on Tuesday broke into the bungalow and stole valuables worth over Rs 20 lakh and left behind an ''I Love you'' message for the house owner.

The incident came to light when the landlord, Asib Xec, returned home on Tuesday after a two-day holiday and found that his bungalow had been robbed.

The thieves allegedly fled with gold and silver jewellery worth Rs 20 lakh and Rs 1.5 lakh in cash, he said.

In addition to this, the owner of the house was shocked to see that the thieves had written 'I love you' with a marker on the television screen, an official informed.

In this regard, a complaint was lodged with the Margao police station following which a case of housebreaking and theft was registered against the unidentified accused.
