Goalpara district administration organized Door-to-door awareness campaign on coronavirus

Goalpara: The Goalpara district administration has undertaken a door-to-door awareness campaign as part of its protective measures to combat a possible outbreak of the coronavirus in this West Assam aspirational district. According to the first step of the plan, team of doctors from the health and family welfare department, in collaboration with the social welfare department, has begun training sessions from Tuesday in the seven different ICDS projects for the Anganwadi supervisors.

In step two, the supervisors in turn will train up the 2,491 Anganwadi workers and in step three, the workers will go door-to-door to make the public aware.

A meeting was arranged on Monday in this regard by Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka at the conference hall of her office in presence of several department officers, including health and family welfare, social welfare and education. The meeting reviewed the already taken steps by the administration, especially by the health and family welfare department, and chalked out further course of action to counter any possible outbreak of the virus in the district.

The administration has already readied two isolation wards at the Bhalukdubi Civil Hospital. Besides, the health department has already finished the training of all of its staff. Moreover, the administration has also sent special instructions to the private hospitals for necessary steps to be followed at the time of dealing with COVID - 19 patients.
