GOALPARA: The Goalpara district administration on Monday launched the “Sampoornata Abhiyan Sanman Samaroh,” sponsored by the NITI Aayog at the DIC field of the town. Pradip Timung, the newly joined District Commissioner of Goalpara inaugurated the programme in presence of Ranjit Konwar, DDC and other department officers.

The Goalpara district has been listed as the Aspirational District and the Lakhipur block as the Aspirational Block under the NITI Aayog through which emphasize is given to develop and achieve 100% saturation of twelve key social sector indicators like health and nutrition, agriculture, social justice, infrastructure development etc.

On Sunday, the district administration felicitated the frontline workers from health, education, agriculture, social welfare, sectors who are working selflessly and being instrumental in transforming the Aspirational district.

Meanwhile, an ‘Aakansha Haat’, a market platform for the and participated by local producers has also been inaugurated by the DC which will run upto August 2.

The first day of the campaign witnessed the enthusiastic participation of hundreds of district and block-level officials, frontline workers, community leaders, local artists and students.

Upen Rabha and Jogesh Deuri, both Assam Gaurav award  recipients graced the occasion who interacted with the budding local entrepreneurs and encouraged them with valuable suggestions.

Among others, Rituttom Borah, Co-district commissioner of West Goalpara, Dipak Kumar Nath, chairman of the district development authority, chairman of Lakhipur municipal board were also present on the occasion.
