GOALPARA: A 34-year old youth from Lower Assam's West Goalpara has created sensation and set an inspirational example of voluntary blood donation.

According to the information, Abu Yusuf M. Sahiduz Zaman aka Rahul Khan of West Goalpara Simlabari has donated so far 33 units blood to different persons of the State, irrespective of caste and religion.

"I have donated blood in Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH), Bhalukdubi Civil Hospital of Goalpara and in many other private hospitals," said Zaman while talking to this correspondent.

Not only this, Zaman has already approached the GMCH in order to posthumously donate his kidney and eyes. "The formalities have already been completed and I will receive the agreement papers on November 23," he said.

Of late, being inspired by Zaman's great feat, a group of youths from the West Goalpara has formed an NGO titled 'Team Humanity' and they are extending their social services to the poor and needy. Zaman's father, Abuwal Mozid was once a frontline social activist from the district. Mozid has reportedly extended his full support to his son's humanitarian works.
