Golaghat Amateur Theatre Society to Celebrate 125 Glorious Years

GOLAGHAT: Golaghat Amateur Theatre Society, one of the premier theatre societies of the State, has completed a glorious era of 125 years. To mark the completion of this glorious era, the authorities of Golaghat Amateur Theatre Society have lined up some colourful events with a year-long programme.

In this context, an executive meeting was held on Monday under the presidentship of Manash Roy, president of the theatre society, and several resolutions were taken to celebrate the glorious era of Golaghat Amateur Theatre Society. According to the decision taken in the meeting, the year-long events will start from November 25.

Golaghat Amateur Theatre Society has taken up various programmes like discussion, drama convention and drama workshop. The society has declared the names of awardees for the year 2019-20. Noted artist Nili Chakraborty will be conferred the Haripad Chetia Award, the Amateur Society Award will be conferred to Poran Borthakur and the Udiyaman Silpi Bota to Nitu Khanikar. These awards will be given at the beginning of the celebration on November 25.
