Golaghat DDMA organizes 12-day AAPDA MITRA training

GOLAGHAT: The 12-day AAPDA MITRA residential training for 50 volunteers, organized by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Golaghat at Police Training College, Dergaon, concluded on Sunday.

The training started on November 20 and concluded on Sunday. The concluding ceremony was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner, DDMA, Golaghat, Partha Sarathi Jahari, and attended by Assistant Principal, PTC, Dergaon, DPO, DDMA, Golaghat and Field Officers of Disaster Management.

The 12-day training covered the basic search and rescue techniques during disasters, fire safety measures, first aid, road safety measures, protection of embankment, relief measures, health and sanitation and preparation of improvised floating aids and rescue items.

The volunteers from all the revenue circles under the Golaghat district were trained by Fire Services Department, SDRF, Civil Defence, other departments like Health, DTO, PHED, AH&VETY, and Water Resources. The AAPDA MITRA volunteers will assist the affected community during any disaster or emergency situation.
