Postal ballot voting will be held for specially abled voters (PwD) and voters above the age of 80 years on March 18 and March 19. The training of Supervisors, Sector Officers, Micro-Observers and Videographers engaged in the process of postal ballot voting was held on Monday at the auditorium of Golaghat District Library. Participating in the training programme, DEO and Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat, Bibhash Chandra Modi called upon the officers to be vigilant and careful while collecting the ballot papers in the postal ballot process. He emphasized the need to ensure that the process of postal ballot was conducted in an efficient and transparent manner. Modi also showed the Sector Officers the correct method of wrapping postal ballots and putting them inside the envelopes so that no voter adopted the wrong method. He said that Videographers and Micro-Observers had been appointed in each polling team.

Total 1,465 PwD and voters above the age of 80 years in both the constituencies are eligible for postal ballot. Postal ballots will be collected from the doorsteps of voters from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on March 18 for the Khumtai LAC and on March 19 for the Golaghat LAC.
