Golaghat District Administration Takes Steps to Control Onion Price

GOLAGHAT: The Golaghat district administration has taken serious note of the increasing price of onions. In a press statement, the DIPRO of Golaghat said that it had come to the notice of the Golaghat district administration that some businessmen had taken advantage of the shortage in supply and increased the price of onion as per their whims. The Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat has strictly warned wholesalers and retailers not to increase the price of onion and to hang the price list notice in a clearly visible place. In this regard, the DC also ordered the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department to take legal action if anyone violated the departmental rule. To monitor this, an enforcement team was formed under the supervision of the Executive Magistrate.
