GOLAGHAT: Constitution Day was observed at Don Bosco College, Golaghat to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India, with the objective of creating awareness about the Constitution of India under the theme 'Indian Constitution and its implications in the 21st Century'.

The webinar in Google Meet Platform was organized by the Department of Political Science and NSS Unit, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). Around 150 participants attended the webinar.

The webinar started with a brief introductory note about the significance of the day by Dr. Sheela Paul, IQAC Coordinator. The eminent speaker for the day was Magistrate Narayan Kuri, secretary, District Legal Service Authority, Golaghat, who gave deep insight into the historical and philosophical background of the Indian Constitution. He focused on the core values, ideologies, various principles and objectives of the Indian Constitution and showed the practical importance of fundamental duties and responsibilities of the citizens towards the society and country. He said that when everyone was focusing on fundamental rights, it was all the more relevant to emphasize on the duties of the citizens in order to establish an egalitarian society.

He described the challenges and obstacles like social, political and digital challenges faced by the citizens in the 21st century.
