Golaghat Excise department conducted drive against illegal alcohol in Furkating

GOLAGHAT: Golaghat Excise department, under the direction of the Excise Superintendent of Golaghat, Manabi Das, conducted a massive drive against illegal alcohol at Furkating in Golaghat district on Friday morning.

As per reports, Excise Inspector of Furkating, Marmeswar Das and Assistant Inspector Naren Mandal conducted raids in Guwaljan and No. 2 Nabajyoti Gaon under Furkating. During the raid, two persons, namely Rakesh Gogoi (40) and Maheswari Bora (58) were arrested for involvement in illicit liquor business. Later, they were produced before the Golaghat district court and sentenced to jail. During the raid, around 200 litres of illicit fermented wash were seized and 30 litres of distilled liquor destroyed.
