SARUPATHAR: The Golaghat police officials took out a bicycle rally in Sarupathar under Golaghat district on Wednesday to celebrate the highest prestigious President's Colour Award. The President's Colour Award is the highest award that any Indian military unit can receive. It is also known as 'Nishaan,' which is an emblem that will be worn on the left sleeve of all unit officers' uniforms.

It is also mentioned that the Assam police became the country's tenth state police force to obtain the prestigious President's Colour award. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will present the President's Colour Award to the Assam police on May 10 at a ceremony in Guwahati.

Meanwhile, Sumit Sharma, Superintendent of Police (SP) of Golaghat district, Trinayan Bhuyan, Subdivisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Dhansiri Subdivision, Jitumoni Deka, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sarupathar Police Station, other police officials, members of Dhansiri Cycle Club, students and local people have joined the bicycle rally in Sarupathar.

Talking to Twitter, the Director-General of Police (DGP) of Assam Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, IPS, tweeted, "This is a true testament to Assam Police's commitment towards performance, professionalism, integrity and above all service to humanity."
