Golaghat Xahitya Utsav and Grantha Mela from February 6

GOLAGHAT: The Golaghat Xahitya Utsav and Grantha Mela will be organized under the patronage of Vox Populi and in collaboration with the Assam Puthi Publishers, Vendors Association, along with other organizations.

In this context a meeting was held at the office premises of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad on Saturday. In the meeting, the decision was taken to hold the Xahitya Utsav and Granth Mela at Samannayskhetra in Golaghat from February 6 to February 14, said VoxPopuli president Debajit Phukan. Secretary of VoxPopuliParthoJyoti Bora explained the purpose of the meeting.

Golaghat's senior journalists Dwipen Dutta, Apurb Ballabh Goswami, noted citizens Dr Nripen Baruah, Jitul Rajkhowa, AASU leader Abhibartan Goswami, social worker Parikshit Dutta, Purna Rajkhowa also delivered speech.

An organizing committee has been constituted with Atul Bora, Minister of Assam Government, Purna Rajkhowa as Executive Chairman and Debojit Phukan as general secretary for organizing Golaghat Satitya Utsav and Granth Mela.

The said Granth Mela is reported to have been attended by publishers and booksellers from outside States and in addition several competitions will be organized during the Mela.
