Golden jubilee celebration of Demow Girls’ High School concludes

DEMOW: The closing ceremony of the golden jubilee celebration of Demow Girls’ High School started on Friday with a two-day long programme.

On the last day of the programme on Saturday, the programme started with a cleanliness drive. After that, a colorful cultural procession was flagged off by Pranab Chetia, former district president of Sivasagar District Students’ Union. The general meeting started with a chorus and Naranath Chetia, president of the golden jubilee organizing committee, presided over it.

Uday Dutta, Headmaster of Demow Girls’ High School, spoke about the aims of the meeting. Dr.Saumar Jyoti Mahanta, Principal of Sivasagar Commerce College, was present in the meeting as a specific orator. Gitashree Borah, a teacher of Demow Girls’ High School, sang a song on the occasion. Dr.Prabal Jyoti Phukan, Professor of Physics at Dibrugarh University, and Ajay Kumar Gogoi, Professor of Political Science at Moran Women College, were present in the meeting as special guests.

Abdul Jelil, Inspector of Schools of Sivasagar district released, a book titled Swarnaluk edited by Joya Dutta Bhuyan, teacher of Demow Girls’ High School.
