Golmagaon High School of Udalguri prepares diamond jubilee celebration

UDALGURI: The Golmagaon High School of Udalguri has prepared to hold its diamond jubilee celebration with a three day-long programme on November 17, 18 and 19. A celebration committee was formed with Gobinda Chandra Basumatari, the BTC Deputy Chief & MLA of Udalguri as chairman, Bishnu Sarma Neupane as working president and Kamal Upadhyaya, the headmaster of the school as general secretary.

To mark the celebration, a multi-lingual souvenir will also be brought out. The souvenir comprises of articles in Assamese, Bodo, Nepali and in English. Dhirendranath Baruah, the assistant headmaster of the school edited the souvenir. The committee has also constructed a memorial statue to commemorate the celebration and the sacrifices of local people to establish the school. Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu, BTC Chief Pramod Boro and other distinguished guests are also expected to attend the open session of the celebration.
