Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi takes stock of medical facilities at JMCH

Jorhat: Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi on Friday visited Jorhat Medical College and Hospital and took stock of the medical facilities made available for the patients.

Prof Mukhi while returning from Sivasagar, visited Jorhat Medical College and Hospital en route to Guwahati and interacted with the patients and took stock of their requirements. Taking keen interests in patients’ amenities, Prof Mukhi asked the Principal of JMCH Dr Atul Chandra Baro not to allow the patients’ attendants and luggage to the patient wards. He also said that visiting hours should be strictly adhered to. To avoid inconvenience to the patient, particular time hours should be maintain ned.

The Governor also asked the authorities to make a provision of waiting room for the attendants and inspected cleanliness in the hospital. Earlier, a Power Point presentation was screened highlighting the upcoming projects of JMCH. The Principal informed the Governor that currently they do not have any neurologist and cardio surgeon for which they are facing difficulties. The Governor assured that he will talk to the concerned minister and get them posted at the earliest. Member of Parliament Kamakhya Prasad Tasa had also accompanied the Governor during his visit to JMCH.
