GP Singh praises Baksa Police for arresting an accused – Ruparat Barman

Guwahati: The Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), GP Singh has praised the Baksa Police for their relentless effort in arresting Ruparat Barman for sexually assaulting and killing a minor girl.

The ADGP has asked the Baksa Police to quickly prepare a charge sheet. The accused, Ruparat Barman alias Bittu was arrested in connection with a rape and murder of an eight-year-old minor girl in Jakhlirpar under Simlaguri OP. The incident happened on the evening of November 4.

GP Singh took to Twitter to praise the efforts of Baksa Police. He wrote: "The relentless efforts of Baksa Police resulted in the apprehension of Ruparat Barman@Bittu from Narangi, Guwahati in connection with the rape and murder of an 08 year old girl at Jakhlirpar under Simlaguri OP on the evening of 4th November 2020."
