Gunotsav 2 gets underway in 2,136 schools in Dhubri district

DHUBRI: Gunotsav 2 (second phase) got underway in 2,136 schools with an enrolment of 2,31,098 students across Dhubri district from Wednesday. Addressing media persons here at Dhubri Circuit House Conference Hall, Dhubri Deputy Commissioner Ananta Lal Gyani informed that in order to conduct the internal and external evaluation of the schools, 584 evaluators had already been engaged. The evaluation started on October 31 and would continue till November 3 in the district.

There are 1,40,430 students in 1,643 lower primary schools, 68,472 students in 333 upper primary schools and 22,196 students in secondary schools under six educational blocks in the district, Gyani added. Replying to a query from media persons, Dhubri Inspector of Schools, Saju Yadav informed that on day 1, an evaluation would be conducted in 717 schools while on day 2, an evaluation would be conducted in 719 schools while evaluation would be conducted in 700 schools on day 3.

Yadav, while highlighting the major achievements of the first phase of Gunotsav held last year, said that Gunotsav was conducted in 2,242 schools last year in the district but the number of schools came down this time to 2,136 due amalgamation of many schools in the meantime.

“In the first Gunotsav, 379 schools got A+ grade, 993 schools achieved grade A, 639 schools got grade B while 195 schools got grade C and 36 schools got grade D in the district last year,” Yadav added.
