Guwahati: The body of a woman has been recovered from a drain in the Khanapara area of Guwahati in Assam. 

The body was found to be chopped into pieces and wrapped in a plastic bag which was later thrown in a drain in Khanapara.

Recently, the Guwahati Police recovered the chopped body parts of a woman at her residence in Boragaon. The woman was previously reported missing by her husband. 

As per reports, the woman's body was cut into many pieces and was wrapped in plastic bags which were found in the bedroom of the deceased. The residence in which the couple lived was a rented apartment.

The deceased has been identified as Antima Gupta.

The main culprit in the murder case was later revealed to be a woman named Debjani Das. The accused not only killed the victim but also chopped her body into pieces and wrapped it in plastic bags.

Debjani Das confessed to committing the murder before the police. Antima Gupta was bludgeoned to death by Debjani Das after a fight occurred between the two.

According to sources, the accused was involved in an extra-marital after with the deceased's husband, Santosh Gupta. This led to a fight between the two women which finally resulted in the death of Antima Gupta.
