Guwahati hosts first-ever design & architecture awards for the North-East

GUWAHATI: The growing design community of the North-Eastern region received a huge boost with Häfele organising the first-ever awards night exclusively for the architects and designers of the seven states. The event was organized at the Radisson Blu – Guwahati on Friday. 14 best-designed projects from seven states were recognized and rewarded under seven different categories of awards.

The awards were presented by chief-guests Ar. Prakash Sandilya (President – AAA), Ar. Amitabh Sarma (Gen. Secretary – AAA), Ar. Jai Prakash Prasad (Jt. Secretary – AAA), Sanjay Swami (Head Marketing Services – HAFELE), Ganesh Prabhu (National Manager Specification – HAFELE) and other luminaries from the design and architecture fraternity.

In January the competition that was rolled out in collaboration with the “Association of Architects, Assam (AAA)” received entries from over 80 architecture firms from all the seven states. To offer a fair judgment, the Mumbai-based jury divided the entries into two categories—one above and another below the age of 40 before choosing the final winners –
