Guwahati-Howrah special express train derails at Chhaygaon

PALASBARI: The Guwahati-Howrah special express train derailed at Chhaygaon on Wednesday.

According to sources, the incident took place near Chaygaon at 1:36 pm in the Guwahati-Goalpara-New Bongaigaon section under Rangiya division of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR). There was no report of any injury or casualty as per the initial report. The passengers of the affected coaches have been shifted to other coaches and restoration work is currently underway at the site. Soon after receiving the information of the derailment, an Accident Relief Train and Accident Relief Medical Equipment train was immediately rushed to the accident spot.
