JORHAT: Gyan Yatra for school students of Class IX and Class X was kicked off by the Jorhat Inspector of Schools, Shubhalaxmi Rajkumarti at a glittering function in the presence of school headmasters and teachers from various schools. The function was held at the premises of Shiksha Bhavan on Monday. The Inspector of Schools said that a total of 22 schools from rural Jorhat areas will be visiting various scientific institutions like NEIST-North East Institute of Science and Technology, Tocklai Tea Research Institute, Assam Agricultural University, Rain Forest Research Institute, Planetarium and Air Force Station, Jorhat.

The visit to these institutions will inspire students to take up science as a subject, said Dr Ranjit Saud, the PRO of Assam Agricultural University, while interacting with the visiting students.
