Hagrama Mohilary announces names of 14 more BPF candidates in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar: The president of BPF, Hagrama Mohilary on Monday announced the names of 14 more BPF candidates for the forthcoming general election of the council to be held within April, totaling to 15 so far with Moon Moon Brahma whose name was announced on February 15 in a public meeting held in Porbhotjhora.

An executive meeting of the BPF was held at Bathou Complex in Kokrajhar on Monday with party president Hagrama Mohilary in the chair. All senior BPF leaders and policymakers attended the crucial meeting. The party has retained all the existing Executive Members, including Speaker and Deputy Speaker, other than Alindra Mashahary and Deben Boro as the party’s official candidate for the general election.

The names of the candidates of BPF announced on Monday include Hagrana Mohilary (Deborgaon), Rajib Brahma (Banargaon), Doneswar Goyary (Baokhungri), Mritunjay Narzary (Saraibil), Kampa Borgoyary (Chirang Duar), Ansumwi Khunggur Boro (Mushalpur), Bijitgwra Narzary (Darangajuli), Lwmsrao Daimary (Khagrabari), Jagadish Sarkar (Mudaibari), Shyam Sundi (Pasnoi Serfang), Maheswar Basumatary (Goreswar), Ganesh Kachary (Suklai Serfang), Bonjar Daimary (Nonoi Serfang), Tridip Daimary (Horisinga) and Nerswn Boro (Bhotgaon). Meanwhile, the name of the existing EM of Mazbat, Alindra Mashahary has been dropped on health ground while Deben Boro of Goibari, who was dismissed as EM due to poor performance and later expelled for anti-party activities, has also been dropped from the list.

Later, talking to reporters, BPF president Hagrama Mohilary said his party would win with an absolute majority in the forthcoming council election. He said the BPF was the only party that was trusted by all communities. He also said the BPF would return to power in BTR and would work for equal development of all communities in the region.

Replying to queries, Mohilary said former ABSU president Promod Boro had joined politics and actually his political activities were not new as he was involved in politics while he was ABSU president. He also said the withdrawal of cases of NDFB leaders and cadres and their rehabilitation were of utmost importance and he would work together with them for on these two important issues.
