Hailakandi District Administration Felicitates AJS Toppers

Hailakandi: The district administration organized a felicitation cum motivational programme to inspire the girl students of high and higher secondary level to compete for competitive exams.

Felicitating Tahmina Laskar and Sharmina Khatun Barbhuiya, who topped the Assam Judicial Service this year at a felicitation function at Women’s Senior HS School here on Monday, Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli said they are the fountainhead of inspiration for the young girls of Hailakandi who want to succeed in life.

Exhorting upon the young girls to work hard to excel in studies and to establish a place under the sun, Jalli said, “There is the need to dream big and strive towards achieving your goal by dint of hard work and perseverance. I dreamt of becoming an IAS Officer and confronted all challenges to achieve my ambition in life.”

Giving valuable tips to the high and higher secondary girl students how to crack competitive exams, Jalli said, “You all have 24 hours in hand and how to utilise the precious time judiciously is of paramount importance in cracking the exams.”

Drawing examples from women achievers in different fields, Jalli said they all struggled against heavy odds to carve out a niche for themselves.

Speaking on the occasion, Inspector of Schools, Rajiv Kumar Jha urged the young girls to take a leaf out of the success of two girls who secured top rankings in the Assam Judicial Service. He urged them to focus on their goal and to work assiduously and conscientiously towards achieving it. “There’s no short cut to success and one has to work with steely determination to succeed in life,” he added.

Laskar, who cleared the AJS in her fourth attempt, urged the students not to give up and to work with perseverance to attain success in life. “Nothing is impossible if you put in 100 per cent. The real competition lies within and not outside. Believe in yourself for the much-needed confidence. And balance your studies by giving equal importance to all subjects, “ she advised the young girls.

21st ranked Sharmina Khatun Barbhuiya said it was not easy for her to balance work and studies but she did it with management of time with dexterity.
