Hand Stamps for All Incoming Passengers at Railway Stations, Airports, says Health Minster Sarma

As a precautionary measure to check the coronavirus outbreak, the Assam government has initiated a step to provide home quarantine stamps to all railway stations and airports across the state. The stamps would be put on the hands of all incoming passengers from coronavirus infected states or areas from March 23 onwards. This was stated by Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The minister also said that this stamp will ensure that such a person’s need for home quarantine for a period of 14 days. “All passengers who will enter Assam from states affected by coronavirus will be stamped at railway stations and airports. Their stamp will say that I volunteer to be at home for 14 days since Assam needs social distancing,” Sarma added. Already the Maharashtra government has taken similar precautionary measures to thwart the spread of COVID:19. Meanwhile, in India, the number of coronavirus infected people has risen to 206 sending a shockwave across the country.
