Handcart puller’s body recovered from Howly Mohanpur area in Mangaldai

MANGALDAI: Strong sensation prevailed in Mangaldai following the recovery of a body at the village Howly Mohanpur (Areng) area.

The deceased has been identified as one Sadulla Sheikh (65), a handcart puller of village No. 2 Bezpara (Telisipara) under Mangaldai Police Station. Son of the deceased, Mohibul Hoque

meanwhile lodged an FIR at Mangaldai Police Station accusing the involvement of three persons, namely Ramen Bora (18), Krishna Hazarika and Nirala Hazarika of village Howly Mohanpur in his father’s death.

In the FIR, he said that the accused persons had beaten his father and left his body. The torchlight of the deceased has also been recovered from the backyard of the residence of the accused persons.

On receipt of the information, Darrang Superintendent of Police Amrit Bhuyan and Officer-in-charge of Mangaldai Police Station Inspector Niranjan Barua immediately rushed to the spot and picked up two of the accused persons, namely Krishna Hazarika and Nirala Hazarika for interrogation. The police have also registered a case vide Mangaldai PS case number 1014/19 under section 302/ 34 IPC. Deputy Inspector General of Police of Central Western Range, Brajenjit Singha also came to Mangaldai to supervise the investigation.
