Handmade bombs recovered by Chaygaon police in Kamrup district

Boko: Chaygaon police recovered five handmade bombs and a Bajaj Pulsar 150 motorbike on Wednesday morning at Panikhaiti village under Chaygaon Police station in Kamrup district.

Chaygaon PS Officer-in-charge Rajib Hazarika said that on Wednesday morning he got information from villagers. After they reached the spot, they found five handmade bombs in a bag. Police immediately took action and cleared the area and brought the bag to an open field in Kukurmara, away from the populated village.

Later, an Assam Police bomb squad from Guwahati reached the area and defused all five bombs. In-charge of Chaygaon PS, Rajib Hazarika said that they had registered a case 132/2020 and started an investigation into the matter. He also added that such bombs were used for robbery and other criminal activities. He also assured that he would catch the culprits involved in this case as he had got information from eye-witnesses in the village.
