Bokakhat: Bokakhat administration is taking all steps to make the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign a success. Over 80 lakh Tirangas are to soar the skies in Assam from August 13 to August 15 including the government and private institutions, educational institutions and commercial establishments. 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign is being implemented by the Ministry of Culture under 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' to commemorate the celebration of 75 years of Independence. The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the citizens and promote awareness about our Tiranga.

As per the nationwide call for 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, to commemorate the upcoming Independence Day, a selling point for the sale of Tiranga was officially inaugurated on Sunday in Bokakhat by the Agriculture Minister Atul Bora in the presence of SDO (C) Bokakhat Sub- Division Dr. Neha Yadav, Chairman of Bokakhat Municipal Board, Officers of Bokakhat Administration, Vice Chairman of Bokakhat Municipal Board, Ward Commissioners and SHG members.

The Centre has urged all States and Union Territories to promote the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign. In the light of that, Assam Agriculture Minister Atul Bora also urged the citizens to make 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign a "People Centric Movement" with maximum Jan Bhagidari (People's involvement).

"To ensure mass participation of the public in the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, extensive awareness events will be carried out from August 1 onwards under the aegis of Bokakhat Administration," Dr. Neha Yadav, IAS SDO (C) of Bokakhat Sub Division stated.

The SDO (C) Bokakhat Sub Division also kicked off a new greening initiative christened as, 'Gift A Tree', a goodwill campaign of Bokakhat administration. The officer told that Tiranga buyers will get a tree sapling free of cost under the 'Gift A Tree' campaign, stated a press release.

SIVASAGAR: In line with Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and as part of the Har Ghar Triranga programme, initiated by the Central government, a tricolour sale centre was inaugurated on Saturday by Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM) under Panchayat and Rural Development Department.

The centre was inaugurated by Jorhat Lok Sabha MP Tapan Kumar Gogoi, in presence of Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Megha Nidhi Dahal, Chief Executive Officer of Zila Parishad Ashwini Kumar Doley, Executive Officer of Sivasagar Municipal Board Manali Prasad Rajak, District Project Manager of Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission Suraj Jyoti Gogoi , Miraj Ahmed of State Urban Livelihood Mission, Sivasagar Pramod Buragohain of District Rural Development Training Institute and other dignitaries.

The centre will be able to provide national flags to the families of all self help groups targeted by the Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission as well as many other families in the district.

The Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission is preparing to distribute tricolors to about 75,000 families through this process.

On behalf of the district administration, Deputy Commissioner Megha Nidhi Dahal has urged all families, government and non-government institutions in the district to successfully implement the Har Ghar Triranga to be celebrated across the country from August 13 to 15.
