TANGLA: Harisinga Nagarik Samiti, a civic body of people of the Harisinga area in the Udalguri district has demanded an ATM, preferably of State Bank of India at the earliest. This was stated in a press communique by the president of the civic body LB Chetry. Chetry alleged that even though Harisinga is a busy business and education hub with a higher secondary, four high schools nearby and a junior college, yet no bank considered this place to set up an ATM following which the bank account holders have to rush either to Tangla or Udalguri to withdraw money.

On the other hand, Harisinga Nagarik Samiti has also demanded speed breakers at the four square areas of Deolguri Chowk where there are reports of a good number of accidents in the past few months. The civic body also demanded blacktopping of the old PWD road from Deolguri Chowk to Kathalguri via Harisinga to connect Bengbari under a scheme. Chetry also informed that the civic body would soon meet the Deputy Commissioner of Udalguri district to intimate him about these basic problems of the greater Harisinga region.
