Head on Collision: Three reportedly dead at NH 54 in Hojai

Hojai: In a tragic road accident, at least three people died and four people sustained severe injuries after a head-on collision between an auto rickshaw (Vikram Tempo) and a truck bearing registration number AS 02AC 7299 on Tuesday evening at National Highway 54 near Nilbagan area under Hojai District.

Reports claim that the truck was coming down from Doboka.

As per sources, one woman died during the severe road crash today. The woman was identified as Salekha Khatun.

The injured persons were immediately rushed to Hojai's Haji Abdul Majid Memorial Hospital & Research Centre for better treatment, out of which three were reported to be critical, they were immediately referred to Gauhati Medical College for further advanced medication.

Meanwhile, a police official claimed before the media that two out of the three people died on the road at Khanapara and Doboka.

Also, the identities of the other injured persons were not ascertained yet.
