Headmaster Rishi Ram Baro retires after serving for 38 years without salary in Udalguri!

TANGLA: The maxim ‘Teaching is merely a service’ goes apt with the life of Rishi Ram Baro, the Headmaster of Alongbar Bodo Medium High School of Khoirabari in Udalguri district, who retired and was given farewell on Wednesday. The event, organized by the farewell management committee of Alongbar ME and High School, was attended by the teachers and students of the school who bid a tearful farewell to Baro. “The sincerity and dedication of Baro towards his service life will remain an inspiration for generations to come,” the speakers, including teachers and students, echoed. The students and teachers feted the outgoing headmaster with phulam gamosa, aronai, xarai and packets of gifts as a token of love and appreciation. Baro had sincerely served the school as a teacher for 38 long years without salary as his school is still awaiting provincialization by the government.
