Health and awareness camp for tea tribes community conducted at Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH: In order to provide healthcare facilities at the doorsteps of the tea tribes community, the Dibrugarh District Health Committee organized a health and awareness camp at the Green Wood Tea Estate Hospital premises on August 25 where a number of people from the community availed health check-up facilities and discussed with the attending doctors various health-related problems.

Deputy Commissioner of Dibrugarh, Biswajeet Pegu, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Biswajit Phukan, Joint Director of Health, Dibrugarh district, Rajiv Baruah and number of Asha workers, nurses, doctors of Green Wood Hospitals and officials and employees of the tea estate attended the programme.

Deputy Commissioner Pegu, while welcoming the gathering, expressed his gratitude to those who availed the health check-up opportunity. Suggesting regular medical check-up of pregnant women Pegu urged the people to avail opportunities offered by the government's recently launched health-related projects. He called upon them to register their names in Aadhaar cards for gaining benefits from such projects. He also called upon mothers to keep in touch with the respective Asha workers and avail all the benefits of healthcare facilities from the nearest government health centres.

Pegu later had an interaction with doctors, nurses and others who participated in the programme.
