Heavy shower inundates Doomdooma after scorching heat for a few days

DOOMDOOMA: A heavy shower took place to the relief of this premier industrial township - known as tea-city of Doomdooma after it experienced scorching heat for a few days. It soon threw life out of gear to much discomfort of the dwellers. The life came to a grinding halt with water-logging in most of the roads. The condition was worst in Ganga Dhar Chaudhury road, Main road, Doomdooma Town Field and Daily Zazar area. The unplanned construction, non-maintenance of drains and the illegal construction, blocking the natural water channels, have enhanced the woes of the people. The Municipal Board authority seldom pays heeds to the complaints of the different organisations/senior citizens for reasons best known to them.
