Heavy vehicular traffic to remain closed on Sinchar-Hailakandi Road

HAILAKANDI: All types of heavy vehicular traffic over the RCC bridge at Katakhal near Matijuri on Sinchar-Hailakandi Road has been closed with immediate effect due to dilapidated condition of the bridge. In an order issued to this effect here on Tuesday, Executive Engineer, PWD Hailakandi District Territorial Road Division stated that all heavy vehicular traffic of six tonnes and above capacity would not be allowed to ply over bridge No.39/1 over river Katakhal at Matijuri point on Silchar-Hailakandi Road due to poor condition of the bridge. The order which comes into force with immediate effect shall remain so until further orders.
